Lishu Taring was born in 751. He was a Dzog chen master in the Drakpa Korsum tradition and composed a commentary on the Dzog chen Drakpa Korsum and the Dzog chen Yongtse Longchen doctrinal curriculum. According to legend, he is said to have visited the land of Olmo lung ring and to have brought many teachers back to Tibet. He is also said to have possessed magical abilities, which, having been born a girl, allowed him later in life to become a boy.
